Scott & Andrea’s Rehearsal Dinner

June 21, 2011

Not long after B and I got engaged, we received wonderful news from one of Ramona’s (my mother) best friends. Her son Scott popped the question to his sweet, sweet girlfriend Andrea, and they would be getting married two months after B and I. It was neat for Ramona and Mrs. Jeannie to go through the wedding planning process together, each on different sides as one the mother of a bride and one the mother of a groom. I have a younger brother, and Scott has a younger sister, so it was also helpful for Ramona and Jeannie to see what they would potentially have to go through on the other side in the future.
Jeannie helped so much with my wedding, and since Scott’s wedding was out of town and had a smaller guest list, we wanted to help out in return any way we could. Ramona and I volunteered to make centerpiece arrangements for the rehearsal dinner.
The rehearsal dinner was at an Italian restaurant, and so with visions of red and white checkered table cloths, candles and romantic lighting, we decided to go with a rustic natural look so as not to take away from the natural ambiance, but to just add a little interest to the tables.
We took small vintage milk jars, wrapped with burlap fabric and tied around the top with twine and raffia. We filled the jars with white and yellow spray roses, green mums, ivy, variegated leaves and other greenery from Ramona’s garden. They turned out so sweet! Jeannie liked them so much she used a few the next day at the wedding. Here is a look at our creations…
